Semantic MediaWiki 2.4.0Released on an unknown date unknown versions of MediaWiki adds further information about the "usage count"1 and the "type"2 of the property to its individual property page. This feature makes use of the page status indicator feature which is available to MediaWiki skins starting with version 1.25.0. Note that not every skin is yet capable of making use of this feature.

In Semantic MediaWiki 2.5.0Released on an unknown date unknown versions of MediaWiki the appearance of the indicators was slightly improved as well as harmonized with other skin elements3 such as the indicator showing the status of the edit protection.

Property usage count

The property usage count is displayed as an estimation from the data available at the time of the access of the property page. The respective timestamp is shown as a tooltip when hovering with the mouse over the "usage count" box.

To allow count statistics shown to use more recent data points, it is suggested to run maintenance script "rebuildPropertyStatistics.php"No description was provided. on a regular basis because data statistics can vary due to several reasons, e.g. delayed update jobs, deferred deletion processes and so on.

Semantic MediaWiki 2.5.0Released on an unknown date unknown versions of MediaWiki added an indicator4 for the usage level of the respective property marking a usage level of 5,000+ property value assignments as "moderate" (in dark orange / hex #aa4c2c) and a usage level of 25,000+ property value assignments as "high" (in dark red / hex #800000). Properties with a high usage may be considered for being changed to fixed properties.

The appearance of the info box may be adapted to the respective wikis style guideline via CSS by manipulating the smw-page-indicator usage-count class.

Property type

Next to the "usage count" on the right the type is shown for the property, i.e. "S" meaning system if the property is a special property or an "U" if it is an user-defined property or a fixed property. This information appears as a brief text which is shown when hovering with the mouse over the "property type" box.
