This extension adds a SignWriting viewer to MediaWiki software. The code is a wrapper for the SignWriting Thin Viewer which utilizes the SignWriting Icon Server available on Wikimedia Cloud Services. This is useful for wikis that wish to use sign language (for deaf contributors and readers).
This extension is also available as a user script on Incubator and the English Wikipedia.
For Incubator, the script has been packaged as a Gadget and enabled by default.
Installation
Extract the extension into extensions/swmp
To enable the extension, add this line at the end of LocalSettings.php :
include("$IP/extensions/swmp/swmp.php");
Usage
The plugin automatically converts Formal SignWriting into readable sign text using client side JavaScript.
